Kevin Costner has never been a great actor.

Totally ham-handed and awkward in my opinion.

Dances With Wolves, The Untouchables, The Postman, Waterworld ....

I guess one could say it's a case of him being mis-cast in a lot of movies over the years, but I think a lot of the roles he's been cast in could have been given to better actors and played a lot better.

Not to say he hasn't been in some of the greats, but for example, his lead in Dances With Wolves darn near ruined an otherwise brilliant film. Of course, this is often the case with actor/directors.
