Best watch to gift under 3k (to bf)

I'm new to the watch scene and I'd like some guidance. I see a lot of Timex, Casio, Titan and Sonatas in this sub that fit my budget. But which specific model looks the best and gives bang for the buck?

Edit: thanks a lot everyone. I should have mentioned his preferences. He hasn't said it himself but i usually see him wearing watches that have metal straps, have a sleek/minimal design and are analog/multifunction. Hope that helps?
